York is a super easy app that tracks all your network traffic. It's mainly designed for advanced users like network admins, but anyone can use it!
The setup is pretty quick and simple. Once you're done, you'll see a friendly interface. It's just a regular window split into different tabs so you can easily check out packets and other data.
As soon as you start York, it automatically begins monitoring the network traffic. You can see important details like the time, addresses, port numbers, and packet sizes for each host right away.
You can look at captured files, passwords, web sessions, and even pictures! Plus, there's a database log that lets you search for info by different criteria—like type, address, or port. If you want to dig deeper later on, you can export everything to CSV format for further analysis.
When it comes to setting things up in York, there are plenty of options! You can choose which network adapter to use and decide if you want to log TCP, UDP, ICMP, or NETBIOS packets. There's also an option to add the start time to your log file name and turn on sound notifications for events like new connections.
If you want even more control over how York works, you can set it up to run automatically when your system starts. You can also protect access with a password and use MySQL to store logs if you'd like.
The great thing about York is that it's light on system resources. This means it won't slow down your computer or mess with what you're doing. In our tests, we didn't run into any issues—the app didn't freeze or crash at all! Overall, York has some handy features that make monitoring network traffic a breeze.
