While magnifying apps are quite popular for mobile devices, they are less common for desktop PCs, especially since you can zoom in and out by holding the Ctrl key and using the mouse scroll. Then again, there are cases when the aforementioned shortcut doesn’t work and you want to check out certain fine details.

ZoomIt is a tool that acts as a screen zoom and that can prove useful when working with various technical projects where the fine details really count.

The program doesn’t come with an interface per se, but rather an Options window where you can configure different hotkeys and other details. The first thing you may need to adjust is the Zoom option, which by default is set with Ctrl + 1 buttons, as this is quite a common combination of keys. It is recommended you choose hotkeys that don’t conflict with other programs you are using and you can specify the level of magnification from the same tab.

Depending on the specifications and requirements of the projects, you can draw or type directly in the area of interest. You have very detailed information about how to draw along with how to select different colors. The feature can come in handy when you want to highlight various correlations and relationships between elements, for instance.

Alternatively, you can draw the attention with typing and you can adjust the font and style from the dedicated tab. Depending on the font, you may be able to change the size, but unfortunately, you can’t modify the color.

ZoomIt is a great tool for anyone who regularly works with technical projects that may require live demonstration. While it’s true that this is the main reason it was designed, the truth is that it works well in other circumstances that may need double and perhaps triple checking on fine details.
